Undecided in Medicine

Hello

Welcome to my blog, a hodgepodge of travel, lifestyle, medicine, and. other musings.

Cancun, Mexico

For Spring Break 2017, I decided to hang out with my dad in Mexico.

No, really.

My dad is Vice President of Sales for a big credit card processing company. They have a meeting every year where business partners come together and learn from each other. An event like this needs a great venue, and what better backdrop than the crystal blue waters of Mexico?

So, my dad was sent to scout out the options and help his boss choose the best venue for their big yearly meeting.

Now naturally, my dad being my dad, he had to boast about how he was going to Mexico during MY spring break, and so of course I responded by putting on my best pouty face, telling him I was jealous and wish I could go. A couple of weeks later he called me on my way to class and told me I had a ticket to Cancun next week. I could hardly contain my excitement and disbelief. I didn't believe I was really going until I looked out my window and saw the white beaches of Cancun below me.

I could hardly contain my excitement and disbelief.

Arriving in Cancun, Mexico.

We were received at the airport by a private car and taken to the resort, where we were greeted by hotel liasons who gave me a flower and a fruity beverage as soon as we stepped out of the car. We were shown to our rooms, and it took everything in me to remain "cool". The floors were granite and marble and extended to sliding glass doors leading to a balcony. A Jacuzzi sat waiting in the corner and the beds looked like the kind you could flop into and sink into a pile of fluff until you disappear.

We got ready and talked over dinner with the sales manager of the resort. Afterwards we enjoyed wine at an outdoor bar with a view of the ocean until we retired to our rooms.

I spent the entire next day relaxing on the beach.
